Garret Keizer

Garret Keizer is the author of The World Pushes Back, winner of the 2018 X. J. Kennedy Poetry Prize, and of eight books of prose including Getting Schooled, Privacy, and The Unwanted Sound of Everything We Want. A contributing editor of Harper’s Magazine and Virginia Quarterly Review, he has also written for The Antioch Review, Harvard Review, The Hudson Review, Lapham’s Quarterly, Mother Jones, The New Republic, The New Yorker and The New York Times. He is a Guggenheim Fellow and a recent inductee of the Vermont Academy of Arts and Sciences. He lives with his wife, Kathy Keizer, in northeastern Vermont.
